Were the planets not aligned? Was it a full moon? Was something in retrograde in the 7th House of the 3rd Rock from the Sun? Is this a karma thing? Does someone not like us anymore? I don't know. Whatever "it" was caused us to lose at Tuesday Trivia last night. I know! We didn't even make the top three. We always at the very least make the top three. Not last night. We were toppled by a group of 87 people. My eyes are still glazed over and that fake courtesy smile is embarrassingly frozen on my face. It's shell-shock.
Everything about last night was a bit off - from Michael not being there, to us not taking the subway, to arriving at Hooter's later than usual and having to wait (!) for a table. We were fairly confident we could pull it off, but early on we knew things were slightly left of center. Funnily enough, we had most of the right answers! We just had most of them written on our scratch paper, not the answer sheet: What movie's tagline was "His life was a million to one shot?" What cosmetic company paid millions to be mentioned on the soap opera "All My Children?" What was the name of the dog on Fraggle Rock? In a classic Simpsons episode, what did Homer use to travel back in time and what did he do that altered history? What does DLP stand for in DLP TVs? Sigh. Team BFF! needs its mojo back. And fast!
On a gooooooood note, we got the certificate for our ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT WINGS PARRRRR-TAY! Woo hoooo! A wings party for 10 people - they supply the wings, we buy the beer. It's gonna be a good time! Blog coming soon...
